Velma Marie Kellner

Velma Marie Kellner, age 96, passed away peacefully Sunday July 14, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Manor in Elliot Lake.  

She was predeceased by her loving husband Charles Kellner, her son Gary and her daughter Deborah.  She is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Line, as well as by Jacqueline (Gary’s widow).

Velma was born September 21, 1927 in Callander, ON to Joseph and Eva Scale.  She met and married the love of her life, Charles Kellner.  They built their home in Elliot Lake and this is where they raised their family.

She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother foremost.  She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.  She made friends everywhere and enjoyed devoting her time to her community.

We all loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, her wit and her undying love and caring.

She will be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brock (Teri-Kristen, Kylee and Brennen), Ellen, Travis (Sarah-Jane, Michael, Tavin and Kayleigh), Anthony (Elizabeth) and Lesley (Jonathan and Lane).

She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family members for a period of time, Kelly and Darrell.

Velma lived a very happy life with her family and friends.  She enjoyed contributing to her community and cheering for her favourite sport teams (Go Vikings Go) for as long as was physically possible for her. 

She was well cared for at St. Joseph’s Manor during the last years of her life.  The family is thankful to all of the staff.

A graveside committal service will be held at Woodlands Cemetery in Elliot Lake on Monday August 12, 2024 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake (St. Joseph’s Manor) in Velma’s name would be appreciated.
