Trudy Leona Aylward Obituary

We sadly announce the passing of Trudy Leona Aylward (nee Purvis), after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away in Elliot Lake, Ontario, on September 13, 2022.

Trudy was predeceased by her parents, John Gail Purvis and Elizabeth (Betty) (Smithers) of Midland, Ontario. Survived by her beloved husband Shayne Aylward, and sons Tyler Edward Graham, Timothy Alexander Aylward (Phoebe) and Ian Daniel Aylward (Sarah).

She is also survived by her sisters Paula Schell (Bob), Elizabeth Bonaparte, brother Robert Purvis (Grace) and her dear cousin Carol Clegg (Steve).

Trudy is sadly missed by her grandchildren Malachi, Hadassah, Junia, and Ashylnn. Trudy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Trudy was born in Montreal, Quebec.The family moved to Midland, Ontario when she was 12 years old where she attended Midland Secondary School.

Trudy was an artist. She produced many beautiful paintings in both oils and acrylics. These paintings are valued and treasured by many. Trudy also did some excellent wood carvings and sketches. She had a talent for design and detail.

Trudy loved working with children and was an active volunteer in Scouting activities for 25 years.

She worked for many years managing Pharmacies. Trudy also owned and operated a sign business as well as a sewing business.

Trudy will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion and patience. Trudy made a positive impact on all who knew her. She will always be loved, and Trudy will never be forgotten.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
