It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond (Ray) Rochon, 72 years young. He lost his battle with cancer on Monday, November 17, 2025, at his home residence, in Elliot Lake. In his final days, he was surrounded by Family and Friends.
Born in Port Colbourne, to Donald and Aileen Rochon, December 28, 1953. Ray is survived by his brother Mark, wife Claudette and sister, Nicole. Predeceased by his parents, sisters and brother.
Ray spent most of of his working years with the TD bank, mostly in Southern Ontario where he made many friends. Retirement brought him to Northern Ontario and Elliot Lake as his “new home town”.
Known for his big moustache, quiet demeanour, and his love of dogs, especially Bernie and Ziggy, Ray was very active within our community as a volunteer, with the Lions Club, Food Bank and SAD. Ray loved playing cards, reading and cheering for the Maple Leafs. He will be missed by all of those people he called Friends.
We want to acknowledge the great health care and support that Ray received from the St. Joseph Hospital Doctors, Staff, Bayshore Health Care and Ontario Health at Home. Their support and compassion to provide help and care for Ray was deeply appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday December 14, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at Club des Ainés L'Étoile d'Or (French Golden Age Club), located at 3 Mary Walk in Elliot Lake.
