Mavis was born November 8th, 1942, in Neilburg, Saskatchewan, and passed away September 1st, 2023, at St. Joseph's Manor in Elliot Lake. She was predeceased by her parents George Adam, (1988), Mildred Adam (nee Esmay), (2013), and in 2017 by her husband Joe, of 52 years. She leaves to mourn, her children Jeff (Margaret), Scott (Heather), and Sue, her brother Bob Adam (Jean), and her sister Marilyn McKechnie (Art), as well as several nieces and nephews.
The joy of Mavis' life was her 6 grandchildren, Erica, Bauer, Quinn, Matthew, Madeline, and Mason. Each grandchild was lucky enough to live close to Grandma during their young years and they all have their own special memories with her.
Mavis made friends wherever she went. Her infectious smile, and expression filled eyes made people feel at ease. She loved playing cards, Scrabble, numerous crafts, and baking.
The family would like to thank everyone who knew and loved Mavis and there were many of you, for your words of encouragement and love. Her family at St. Joseph's Manor will forever be in our hearts. They loved Mom as if she were their own. Extra special thanks to Kayleigh, Sherry and Wendy. The three of you were all there through the toughest times in the last days.
The family of Mavis request that if you so desire, a donation be made to Alzheimer's research in her name.
