Today, December 19th, 2023, our world became broken, as heaven received another angel. Matt O'Neill born on July 11, 1944 in Belfast, N. Ireland, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Mary by his side at the St. Joseph's General Hospital in Elliot Lake, Ontario.

He is survived by his children Kim (Robby), Laurence (Delores), his caring sister Mairead O'Neill of Montreal, Quebec, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Canada, United States, France and Ireland.

Friends will be received at Ste. Bernadette's Parish on Saturday December 23, 2023 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11 am.

Grateful appreciation to Dr. Tim deBortoli for all of his kindness and compassion throughout Matt's illness. Thank you to all of the doctor's and nurse's medical staff at Health Sciences North for their attention during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph's Foundation of Elliot Lake (Oncology Renovation Project) or to the Elliot Lake Palliative Care Program.
