Stefanich, Mark (AKA 10-4)
It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing of Mark Stefanich on Wednesday November 19, 2025 in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Mark a very kind and generous person, known and loved by so many people. He lived life to the fullest and with a lot of enthusiasm.
Mark was predeceased by his father Bill and is survived by his mother Renie, his children, Samantha and Dakota, his children’s mother Kerry McMillan and by his stepchildren, Trever, Steven, Jay and Meghan. He is also survived by his brothers, Jody and Kyle, his nieces and nephews, Corey, Tyler and Mya and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his good friends Ron and Geri in Calgary, Alberta.
Mark always enjoyed being around his family and friends, regardless of the activity. He loved listening to music by the fire, family dinners, parties with friends and any time spent at camp… especially watching the stars. He never wanted to leave.
As many people know, Mark seemed to get a nickname for every little thing that happened to him. Everyone always enjoyed coming up with a new one for a good laugh. Most of them didn’t last very long, but Mark will forever be remembered as 10-4.
Mark was a very hard working man and spent over 35 years working in the arena, in both Elliot Lake and Calgary. He was a volunteer firefighter and was always available to help anyone that needed it.
Mark always talked of good times remembering all of the special memories he had with so many people in his life.
If you knew him, have a beer (or 6), turn on some Eagles music and take a moment for him. After that, tell a bad joke and make someone laugh.
Special thanks to paramedics and the ER staff at St. Joseph’s General Hospital for their kindness and respect while Mark was in their care.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday November 28, 2025 at 11 am from Ste. Bernadette Parish. Father Paul Conway officiating.
