Cook, Marie Arbutus Loreen - It is with sorrow that the family announce the passing of Arbutus Cook at the St. Joseph General Hospital in Elliot Lake on January 9, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Donald Cook in 2015 she is survived by her children Blake (Denise), Carla and Maureen all of Elliot Lake. Dear grandmother of Tanya Harrison (Craig), Cassandra, Kyle (Sarah), Eden (Duncan), Alexandra (Robert), Jamie-Lee, the late Joseph and great grandmother to Morgan and Ross. Pre-deceased by her parents Joseph "Sunny" Bishop and Mabel (nee Muncaster), her sister Faye Bishop, she is also survived by her brother Gary Bishop (Jocelyn), brother in law Godfrey (Jeanette) as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Arbutus was a past member of the CWL and devoted many hours to family, friends and church and for this she will be missed greatly by all who were privileged to know her. Due to COVID restrictions, cremation has taken place and a mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date from Ste Bernadette's Parish in Elliot Lake when safe to do so. She will be buried with Donald at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Spanish.
The Cook family want to take this time to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff at Hillside Retirement Park and St. Joseph's General Hospital as well as Dr DeBortoli for the care and devotion to their mother. Your dedication will never be forgotten.
