FRESCURA, Judy Mae (nee MacDonald)
May 1, 1961 - November 15, 2025
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Judy Frescura on November 15th, 2025 in Elliot Lake, Ontario after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on May 1st, 1961, Judy lived her life with a spirit rooted deep in the outdoors. She found peace in the quiet of early mornings, joy in every cast of a fishing line, and freedom in the stillness of the woods. Fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors tending to her sunflowers were more than just hobbies for her - they were where she felt most herself and where many of her happiest memories were made.
Above all, Judy was a proud mother in her own unique way and took immense joy in her daughter’s accomplishments, dreams, and the women they have become. Pre-deceased by her parents John and Pearl MacDonald, her partner Brian Brown and her sister Lily Croskery (Derrek). Judy is survived by her daughters Kristin (Robert) and Danielle (Joseph). Grandmother to Natalie and Benjamin Barnard. Cherished sister to Sharron (Harry), Eileen, Cathy, and Debbie who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Those who knew Judy will remember her for her unwavering courage, her smile, her love of bingo and the way she embraced outdoor life. Whether she was sharing stories around a campfire, teaching someone to bait a hook, or simply enjoying the fresh air at the lake, she leaves behind many memories shared under open skies. Though she has left this earth, the trails she walked, the waters she fished, and the hearts she touched will carry her spirit forever.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and caregivers at St Joseph’s Hospital for their care and comfort during the most difficult moments of her journey.
Cremation has already taken place. A private celebration of life will be held for family at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the St Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake would be most appreciated.
