Joanne Elizabeth Thompson May 18, 1954 - March 9, 2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joanne Elizabeth Thompson on March 9th, 2026 at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake. Joanne will be remembered as a woman of kindness, resilience and her infectious laugh will never be forgotten.

Being born in 1954 meant living in a world of change and possibilities. She lived her life with determination and carried the spirit of warmth throughout her life.

Joanne was known for her generous heart, steady presence and the way she made people feel welcome wherever she went.

Joanne had a gift for listening and offering comfort. Family meant everything to Joanne and she fiercely protected it. She took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of those she loved and was happiest when surrounded by them-whether it be a simple dinner, holiday filled with laughter, quiet moment shared together or playing with her great grand children. Her love and guidance left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her family, friends, fur babies and all whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life is being held at the Moose Lodge in Elliot Lake on Friday April 17, 2026 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal rescue or Elliot Lake Animal Hospital.
