It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Joan Grant (nee Currie) at the age of 87 in Elliot Lake.  She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, cousins and extended family.
Loving wife of husband Mervyn Grant (predeceased 1993). 

Sister to Cathy Dinnen (Don)(predeceased), sister to Anne Middleton (Midge). 

Children:  Robb Grant (Maeve), Beth Grant Pelude (Arnis), Douglas Grant (Carmen), Donald Grant, Lori Grant (Randall), Cathy Grant Guerin (Normand), Sheila Harvey-Grant (daughter-in-law). Grandchildren:  Corrie, Kayla & Rachel,  Erin, Claire & Shannon, Jonathan, Matthew & Crystal (predeceased), Maggie, Alie & Carleigh. 

Great-grandchildren: Shiann, Aiden, Lauren and Charlotte.

Joan was born in Chaput Hughes near Kirkland Lake Ontario.  She moved to Elliot Lake with her husband Mervyn in 1961, where they raised their six children and enjoyed their remaining years.
A voracious reader and gifted wordsmith; Joan had a love of history, literature, poetry, nature and crossword puzzles.  Generous and thoughtful, she was there for everyone.  A model of sacrifice and strength.  She was committed to family and showed her empathy for others in her support of numerous charitable organizations.  Joan lived life with humility and humour.  Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Gentle Shepherd Church.
