It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Kyer (nee Pain/Sinclair) of Elliot Lake, formerly of Cambridge, Ontario, at Sudbury Health Sciences North, surrounded by her dear friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Byrn Kyer, sister Barbra Lam and parents Joan and George Pain.

Janet and Byrn (the one True Love of her Life) moved to Elliot Lake to enjoy their retirement years together.

Janet was born in Erith, Great Britain and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1957. She was a successful part owner of Brian's Camera (formerly Brian's Foto Source) a local camera shop in downtown Galt (Cambridge), for many, many years providing the community with quality photo finishing services, cameras and accessories.

Janet was also loved and admired for her crafting passions, from her beautifully knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched and quilted creations to her extraordinary hand-crafted porcelain dolls. She donated many of her projects (mitts, hats, baby clothes, blankets, etc.) to hospitals and shelters for their benefits. Her kindness and generosity shone through them and will be truly missed.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at Cedar Hill United Church, 241 Cedar Street, Cambridge on June 7, 2025 at 10am.
