EADY, Helen Doris

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Helen Eady (nee Molzahn) in her 102nd year at Elliot Lake on May 29, 2023.

Helen was born in Pembroke, Ontario on January 16th, 1922, the daughter of Paul and Marie Molzahn (both pre-deceased). She married Wayne Eady (pre-deceased) in Pembroke in 1947 and with stops in Rouyn, Quebec, Onaping, and Elliot Lake, Ontario they raised their 5 children Barbara (Tom), Joan, Janice (Rocky pre-deceased), Glen (Christine pre-deceased) and Richard (Marielle). Helen was proud to have 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Helen was a devout member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Elliot Lake and during her life she loved to bake, knit, skate, golf and curl. She and Wayne travelled extensively and following his death she continued this interest with many of her Elliot Lake friends. There was no crossword puzzle that was too challenging for Helen and her appetite for this and reading a good novel continued right up to her final day.

A huge thank you to the staff at the Huron Lodge where our mother spent her last 9 years and another thank you to Dr. Culic and the staff at St Joseph's General Hospital Emergency Department who allowed our mother to pass peacefully and comfortably.

A family graveside service will be held at a future date. In memoriam donations to St. Joseph's Foundation of Elliot Lake will be appreciated.
