Gauthier, Dolores Mary
Passed away peacefully at the North Shore Health Network in Blind River after battling numerous health issues on Monday October 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband Edward Fernand “Pitou” Gauthier. Beloved mother of Beverley Gauthier, John Gauthier (Velvet), Evelyn Gauthier, all of Blind River, Brian Gauthier (Denise) of Midland and the late Daniel Gauthier. Loving grandmother of Melody, Cassidy, Ellie, Dexter and Ella. Dear sister and best friend of Candace Boyer and was predeceased by her sisters, Genevieve Boyer and Sharon Cada. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Wilkins and her family who was a foster family to Dolores, as well as Therese Bobiwash and Ely Desabrais. She will be sadly missed by her other best friend Marilyn Moranville and by her special friends Linda Lamorie, Dolly Cadarette, Diane Francoeur and numerous co-workers and bingo friends. Dolores had a generous heart and enjoyed her numerous outings to Gateway Casino in Sault Ste. Marie. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday October 10, 2025 at 2 pm from St. James The Greater Church in Blind River. Father Clarence officiating. Following the mass, a reception will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion in Blind River from 4 to 7 pm. Interment to take place at a later date in the Mississauga First Nation Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shamas, Doctors and staff in the Acute Care at North Shore Health Network, as well as Dr. George and staff in the A3 and C3 wings of the Sault Area Hospital for the care and compassion provided to Dolores throughout her illness.
