Dieter Gey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather Dieter Gey who was affectionately known to us as “OPA” on January 2nd, 2025 in his 88th year at St Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake. Dieter was born in Leipzig, Germany, on July 8th, 1937. Dieter is survived by his wife Isolde Gey, daughter Birgit Inama (Mark), grandchildren Jennifer Inama (Shawn), Stephanie Inama, Christopher Inama (Brittney) and great-grandchildren Louis and Oliver Deneault and Lyla Inama. He will be sorely missed by many family and friends. He was well known for his wit and humor. He was an avid lover of stamp collecting, as well as reading and doing his sudoku. We would like to thank the staff of St Joseph’s General Hospital for their excellent care and attention. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake (St Joseph’s General Hospital).
