Bruno Petrikowski
It is with great sadness that the family of Bruno Petrikowski announces his peaceful passing at St. Joseph's General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Thursday February 2, 2023 at the age of 85. Born in Prussia, he was the son of the late August and Martha Petrikowski. Bruno came to Canada in 1957 barely speaking English with a few dollars in his pocket to be a pipefitter in mining. Later while in Timmins, he met his wife of over 60 years, Lisette (Maltais) Petrikowski. Leaving to mourn are his wife Lisette, sons Conrad (Kim), Peter, grandchildren Kyle, Kristen, Emma, Ben and the extended Petrikowski and Maltais family.
He had a very strong work ethic; he enjoyed life with his family and friends to the fullest. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. When that became too much for him, he often told stories about those days. He was also a card player; euchre and cribbage were often his game of choice, with 25 cents on the line for the winner.
At Bruno's request, there will be no service, cremation has taken place. The graveside committal service will be held at Woodlands Cemetery in Elliot Lake on Friday May 12, 2023 at 11 am. This would have been their 61st wedding anniversary.
