Brian Lavin April 23rd 1932 - March 23rd 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Brian, who passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, surrounded by family. A gentle soul with a warm heart, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Brian would have celebrated his 93rd birthday on April 23, but instead, he chose to reunite with the love of his life, Joyce—affectionately known to all as Grandma Joyce. Brian enjoyed his visits with his grandsons Justin and Jeremy, sharing hockey scores, or who is the worst team, golf, Blue Jay games, Sportsnet in general, or poking fun at one another made him laugh. A devoted Manchester United fan, he never missed a Saturday morning match. He loved his daily scratch tickets, always a big winner with Pick 3. Brian loved travel, with numerous trips to the Casinos in Windsor, Las Vegas s well as many travels over the years to Europe with Joyce and his daughters. He is from a family of 8, growing up in Langold, Nottinghamshire England before venturing to Canada and coming up Highway 108 to make his forever home in Elliot Lake. Brian was a long time employee at Denison Mines. Brian is survived by his daughters Karen (husband Larry) of Elliot Lake, Wendy (husband Kevin) of Windsor, grandsons Justin (Jenn) of Kitchener, and Jeremy (Marissa) of Waterloo. Great grandfather to Brooks and Brynn. Brian (Somer) of Tecumseh, Bill and Lisa of Lasalle and their children/grandchildren. No words can ever express the gratitude we have for the staff at St Joseph's Manor for their professionalism and caring ways. Brian always enjoyed the staff's humour and friendship. He is now at peace. Graveside interment to be decided at a later date. Special thanks to Jon of Alternative Funeral Services. Donations in Brian’s name can be made to St. Joseph's Manor or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
