Alain Lebel

Alain Lebel, 70 ans, d’Elliot Lake, est décédé paisiblement le 24 novembre 2025, entouré de sa famille. Né le 16 juillet 1955 à Squatec, Québec, Alain était l’enfant bien-aimé de défunt Philippe Lebel et défunte Bibiane Bouchard. Il a grandi avec un profond sens de valeurs comme le respect, l'intégrité, l'amour, la détermination et le dévouement. Ces valeurs ont su le guider tout au long de sa vie. Alain a consacré sa carrière à miner dans les mines, où il était admiré pour ses qualités : blagueur, générosité, sa disponibilité pour les autres, son mentorat etc. En dehors du travail, il trouvait de la joie dans le ski alpin, le baseball, ballon-balais, la pêche, la chasse, les temps en famille et son engagement communautaire. Par-dessus tout, Alain chérissait sa famille. Il laisse dans le deuil sa compagne Gabrielle Jean. Il a été un père aimant pour Stéphanie (Patrick Patenaude), Caroline (Paul Vettoretti), Marc et Christian, et un grand-père fier de Lucas Lebel, Zachary Patenaude, Jeremy Koch, Jacob Koch, Leanne Patenaude, Justin Patenaude, Cameron Lebel, Mackenzie Vettoretti, Bradley Lebel, Logan Vettoretti et Noah Patenaude. Sa chaleur, sa sagesse et son humour manqueront profondément. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs : Ghislain (Francine LeBlanc), Suzanne, Sylvie, Annette, Harold (Lise Dubé) Céline Berubé et Guildo Saint-Pierre. Il a été précédé par ses sœurs Micheline, Louise et ses parents bien aimés. Une messe commémorative sera célébrée samedi, le 16 mai 2026 à 10h30 à la Paroisse Ste-Bernadette d’Elliot Lake. La famille vous invite ensuite à vous joindre à nous pour une légère collation. En lieu de fleurs, des dons commémoratifs à la Fondation St. Joseph d’Elliot Lake (Hôpital général St. Joseph) ou encore à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés. La famille tient à exprimer sa profonde gratitude à l’Hôpital général St. Joseph ainsi qu’à l’Hôpital régional de Sudbury pour leur soutien durant cette période et tout ce qui a précédé.

Alain Lebel, 70, of Elliot Lake, passed away peacefully on November 24, surrounded by his family. Born on July 16, 1955, in Squatec, Quebec, Alain was the beloved child of the late Philippe Lebel and the late Bibiane Bouchard. He grew up with a deep sense of values—respect, devotion, integrity, kindness, and hard work—these values guided him throughout his life. Alain devoted his career to mining, where he was admired for his qualities: humor, generosity, availability to others, mentorship, and more. Outside of work, he found joy in downhill skiing, baseball, broomball, fishing, hunting, family time, and community involvement. Above all, Alain cherished his family. He leaves behind his partner, Gabrielle Jean. He was a loving father to Stéphanie (Patrick Patenaude), Caroline (Paul Vettoretti), Marc, and Christian, and a proud grandfather to Lucas Lebel, Zachary Patenaude, Jeremy Koch, Jacob Koch, Leanne Patenaude, Justin Patenaude, Cameron Lebel, Mackenzie Vettoretti, Bradley Lebel, Logan Vettoretti et Noah Patenaude. His warmth, wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed. He is also survived by his siblings Ghislain (Francine LeBlanc), Suzanne, Sylvie, Annette, Harold (Lise Dubé), Céline Berubé, and Guildo Saint-Pierre. He was predeceased by his sisters Micheline and Louise, as well as his beloved parents. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Ste-Bernadette Parish in Elliot Lake. The family invites you afterwards to join us for a light snack. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Joseph Foundation of Elliot Lake (St. Joseph General Hospital) or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to St. Joseph General Hospital and the Sudbury Regional Hospital for their support during this time and throughout the preceding period.
