Kenneth (Ken) Girard

GIRARD, Kenneth (March 13, 1952 - February 27, 2021)

With sorrow the family announces the unexpected death of Kenneth Girard at the St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Saturday February 27, 2021 at the age of 68. Beloved partner to Virginia and dedicated father to John Girard (Amy) of Milton, Manny Girard of Wawa, and Evelyn Girard (Robert) of Sturgeon Falls. Loving grandfather to Hudson, Hartley, and Mélanie. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents Manser and Evelyn Girard (née Ste. Croix). Kenneth is also survived by his siblings Lorne (Marie) Girard of London and Lorraine (David) Stacey of Barrie, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ken is remembered as the charismatic friend to all and an avid member of the Catholic Church community; Sunday mornings were dedicated to making breakfast for, and chatting with, local community members. He enjoyed watching his Montreal Canadiens, fishing, and talking about fishing.

Funeral mass will be held at Paroisse Ste. Bernadette Parish on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at 11 am. Memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

Due to the current pandemic & health restrictions imposed by the provincial government, there is a maximum attendance restriction which allows for 30% of room capacity.

Upon entering the Church, you will be required to wear a mask or face covering, use hand sanitizer & confirm your name & telephone number for contact tracing purposes. You will also need to observe the 2 meters Physical Distancing guideline imposed by the provincial government, unless you are members of the same household.

Dear Kenny: I will miss our frequent telephone calls. You were a very kind, special and loving cousin to me. I am saddened that we were not able to say a farewell goodbye. You will always hold a special place in my heart. The Lord needed you on the other side to fulfill another task. Fly high dear Cuz with the angels as you have certainly earned your wings.
