It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father Joseph (Joe) Beach, 88 years old, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Ruth (nee Carleton) Beach. Dad was very proud of his family often boasting about one or another. He was the loving father of the late Daniel (Phyllis) of Kitchener, Gwendolyn Martella (Albert) of Sault Ste. Marie, Winona Maillet (Wayne) of Elliot Lake and Timothey (Paulette) of Elliot Lake. Dear grandfather of Courtney, Christopher (Nicole), Anthony (Jaana), Joshua (Danna), Cloé, Anne (Brian), Mackenzie (Jeremy), Matthew (Alicia), Michelle and great grandfather of Gavin, Hayleigh, Maija, Ava, Lexi, Lily, Luke, Murphy and Huxley.
Born in Brethour, Ontario to Bridget and William Beach. Little Joe was one of 15 children, he leaves behind 2 sisters and 1 brother. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. New Liskeard was his home for many years. While raising a family and working alongside Ruth on the family farm, Dad was also a hard rock miner. He worked at many mines in Northern Ontario until New Year’s 1968 when he moved his family to Elliot Lake. He started at Rio Algom and moved over to Denison Mines where he remained until retirement.
Dad and Mom, often with all four children in tow, enjoyed many outdoor activities such as; snowmobiling, hunting, RVing, four-wheeling and house boating to name a few. Each brought on many adventures and wonderful memories to never be forgotten.
In recent years Dad, also known as Grampa or Papa to his nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, would light up with joy whenever anyone from the family came to visit. He lived for these precious moments.
The family would like to send messages of Thanks to Dr. Siddiqui as well as the 3rd floor staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake.
Due to COVID restrictions and Joe’s wishes, the family will have a private service.
